Picture Of Cake Goes Viral After Story Behind The Decoration Is Revealed (Photo)

Ingredients

A photo of a cake from a Meijer supermarket has gone viral after the story behind the person who decorated it was revealed.

On Nov. 29, Lisa Aldrich shared a photo on Facebook of a cake she bought from Meijer. She wrote in the post that an employee asked her if she could write on the cake after she had picked it out. The employee then took a long time on the cake, and when Aldrich finally received it, she thanked the employee and checked out.

During checkout, other employees explained the significance of the cake.

“To my surprise, after they discussed it, one cashier put her arm on my shoulder and said ‘the girl who wrote that has Autism. Thank you for smiling and thanking her- even though she’s not supposed to write on cakes, you probably made her day,’” Lisa wrote in the post accompanying the photo.

After sharing the photo and the story, the photo went viral, being shared by several autism groups and thousands of people across the country, according to Fox 17. Lt. Governor of Michigan Brian Calley even retweeted the photo on his Twitter account.
